Republicans are putting country second!!!!

Chances are that if you are reading this Hub you are pretty well versed with the political spectrum lately. Unfortunately there are millions out there who are oblivious to the political bickering, stalling and lack of bipartisan that is really placing the country in a situation that we have not seen in many decades. I really hope that if you do have any friends and family that are out of the loop you give them a pep talk on the political situation we are encountering because it is a climate that has never been seen before.
It is the rules of politics that one political party is always striving to derail the other in order to seek power. This can be seen from the smallest race in a small town city council and all the way up to the presidency of the United States. Unfortunately our national political situation for the past two and half to three years has taken a turn that has not been seen before. We have a republican party that instead of focusing on how to get this country back on its feet, its seems that their priority is to oppose every single idea that comes out of the White House regardless of how much that idea will help the country. The Republicans used their obstructionist ways to hold the middle class hostage in the extension of the Bush Tax cuts. The President wanted the majority of Americans like ourselves to keep the tax cuts and let the millionaires pay their fair share so we can create some revenue to offset our huge deficit. Of course, the Republican outcry forced the President to give in to the Republican demands because he knew that if they would expire the middle class and the poor would have taken a huge hit. The Republican argument that we cannot raise taxes on the so called job creators which in real terms means the rich, has been proven to be false. No jobs have been created and companies are sitting with trillions of dollars and are not re investing. This is why unemployment remains above 9% and the republican theory was debunked. Republicans showed their true colors then and it continued.
The debt ceiling debate was also a huge issue all caused by Republicans. They claimed that we could not raise it without compromising in cutting elsewhere. This may seem to be a logical stand but it reality it was a hipocrytical one. What the american people did not know was that the Republicans raised the debt ceiling 19 times for President Bush. Every time Boehner and Cantor all voted to raise the debt ceiling and never asked for cuts to be made to offset the raise of the debt ceiling. The President got involved in order to reach a compromise and this a step taken by the president that has never been seen before. Traditionally Presidents never get involved in raising the debt ceiling but of course since the President is working to move the country forward he got involved.
The President's record clearly shows a competent man who is working everyday in the interests of the United States and its people. We have a President that averted a depression, he saved the american automobile industry, he got Health care passed and even though its not perfect its gives the american people a chance to be covered when ill and not dropped by healthcare companies. The President helped pass Wall Street reform and created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in order to prevent another financial mess and have oversight to prevent Wall Street irresponsibility, Credit Card reform, Repealed Don't Ask Don't Tell, Killed Bin Laden which is something Bush couldn't do, and then helped in a regime change in Libya and did not even use a troop on the ground. Republicans wanted the president to do more in Libya and considering the way they have handled previous wars they started, the President did the right and not listened to them.
I applaud the president for stepping up in the last few weeks in calling out the Republican leadership on their lack of commitment to move the country forward. The Jobs Act Bill gets people back to work and helps rebuild America and Republicans oppose it. The bill cuts taxes and Republicans still oppose it. Independent economists have stated that the Jobs Act bill will prevent a double dip recession and create jobs and Republicans still oppose it. Of course there a few Democrats who did not like the bill per say but they are making some adjustments and after the President's news conference today it looks like the bill will go for a vote next week.
The President is doing now what I have been calling for for many months and this is to unmask the Republicans. It is clear that their strategy is to stall any type of progress and make the president seem incompetent. Well the american people are fed up and the President is calling out the obvious. The Republicans are more interested in defeating the President and then blame him for the lack of progress that the Republican party created in their obstructionist ways. Just ask Mconnell from Kentucky who publicly has said that his priority is to defeat the President. Maybe he should focus on getting people back to work in his state.
Come November of 2012 if the american people place their political loyalty aside and really evaluate what the President has done or has tried to do for the United States and its people, your vote should go for the person that is fighting to close the income inequality gap we suffer, your vote should go for the person who believes in closing tax loop holes to stop corporations in paying less taxes than you do while they make billions in profits and your vote should go for the person who believes that instead of giving millionaires and billionaires a tax break, we should give teachers, construction workers, police officers and firefighters a job instead.
Its up to you America!!!!! So make sure you vote.

Excellent Hub Manatico. The only goal the Republicans have had since President Obama was elected was his defeat. They do not care at all what is good for the country. It's politics first and foremost for them. They should be defeated in 2012 for that reason alone.
